Cars in German Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Officers reported they were notified by a resident who discovered a car in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Around fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then found numerous other marked vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police state early analysis suggest the liquid was most likely human blood.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are currently not informed of any harm in relation with the event," they added.

City officials announced they were trying "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.

An important political figure commented the vandalism made him without words and had to be resolved promptly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
